The challenge for the Artistic Director is to create and deliver a programme that will delight and inspire Festival-goers and keep them coming back for more, while at the same time attracting a wider and more diverse audience. Running over the last week of May and the first week of June, a packed programme of around sixty events includes concerts, walks, workshops and art exhibitions. We make good use of characterful churches, village halls and, of course, the glorious Dales landscape.

Your strong musical background, which is likely to have a classical bias, coupled with your experience in organising arts events, will equip you to rise to this challenge. It’s a part-time, flexible position which can be carried out working remotely with travel to occasional meetings. Golden opportunities like this arise very rarely – the last time was seventeen years ago. For information about the role, the Festival and how to apply, please refer to the applicant information on this page. If this doesn’t answer all your questions, please contact Elizabeth Bedford on friends@swalefest.org or 07957 207579 or call our office number 01748 880018.
