Glacial features, mines and Kisdon Gorge
Venue: Meet at Rukin's Car Park, Keld
Led by members of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale Archaeology Group, this 2-mile walk will include a discussion of glacial features around Keld, geology exposed in the Kisdon Gorge, and mines around Crackpot Hall and the Swinnergill Smelt Mill. The walk will be on good tracks, with some steep sections. Dogs on leads are welcome. Adult £10; Under 25 £3
Places are limited so please book in advance. If a walk is sold out, you can call our office to add your name to the waiting list. Please let us know as early as possible if you are not going to use your walk ticket; we can’t offer refunds but someone else may be able to take your place. You’ll need sturdy boots, waterproofs and a hat. For the longer walks bring lunch and water. Coins for ticket machines may be needed. Published durations are approximate.
