We were sad to learn that the poet Jenny Joseph died on 8 January. Although famous for one poem - ‘Warning’ - which, in a BBC poll a few years ago, was voted the most popular post-war poem, Jenny was a prolific, diverse and highly talented writer. We were fortunate to persuade her to come to Swaledale Festival in 2010 when she gave a memorable reading to a large audience in Gunnerside Methodist Chapel. She will be much missed.
