Our Shop Window

Showcasing the Festival

  • 3 May 2016

The Swaledale Festival was recently contacted by Richmond community group Transition Richmond Yorkshire which seeks ways of improving life for people in the town. It has been given a window in Ken Warne grocers in Finkle Street in which local organisations can put on displays about their activities and it coordinates the use of this window. We were asked if we would like to occupy the window from the end of April until shortly before the end of the Festival - and of course we said "YES please"

On Saturday 30 April Kate Mothersill, who has been our Artist Liaison person during the Festival for the past 2 years and is now putting her artistic and IT skills to use with us in publicity and marketing on a part time basis had been given the task of designing the window for us. She arrived with her mother to help and a car full of suitable stuff. Board member marketeer Janet Hall had the Festival's new pop-up roller banners, our collection of awards and various other bits and pieces.

We hope the resultant display shows what we do, what we are proud of and details of this year's Festival. We think it looks rather good. If you are in Richmond town centre do go and have a look at it.
